Born and raised in Germany, Anna Ivey is a US-trained lawyer with prior experience at the Los Angeles law firms Irell & Manella, where clients included Disney, Broadway Video, and Mattel; and Gipson Hoffman & Pancione, where film finance deals included The Boondock Saints with Willem Dafoe, Nurse Betty with Renée Zellweger, Rules of Engagement with Samuel L. Jackson, The Whole Nine Yards with Matthew Perry, and Bring It On with Kirsten Dunst.
